Funeral services for Clint Daniel Smith, 54, of Wells, will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Lufkin, Texas with Bishop Ryan Dodge officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Wells, Texas.
Clinton Daniel Smith, age 54, returned to his Father in Heaven unexpectedly on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Lufkin, Texas. He was born on November 26, 1971, in Lufkin, Texas to Ronnie Daniel Smith and Shelia Conger. He married the love of his life Sonia Kay Sessions on March 21, 1992, and was later sealed for eternity on November 24, 2007, in the Houston Texas LDS Temple.
Clint spent most of his childhood living in Las Vegas, Nevada and Pollok, Texas. He later graduated from Central High School. After graduation, he moved to Las Vegas, where he met Sonia. They married and moved several times before settling down in Wells, Texas, where they would raise their family.
Clint was a hard worker and had many jobs throughout his life but spent 26 years of service at UPS.
There wasn’t much that Clint couldn’t do. His kids were always calling him for help on projects, and he obliged when he wasn’t doing crafts/ projects for Sonia. He was always looking for higher learning, and learning new things. He had completed his CDL, FAA Drone pilot license, HVAC, and realtor license just to name a few.
Clint was a family man, and it was always his top priority being there for his wife, kids, and grandkids. He would fly across the country for baby blessings, birthdays and even football games and dance recitals. He never wanted to miss a moment of their lives.
Clint was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had many callings that he served in. He was a Clerk, Second Councilor, First Councilor, Bishop, and High Councilor.
Clint is preceded in death by his grandparents, LeeRoy Smith and Betty Smith, and Ralph Conger and Rita Willer. He is survived by his sweetheart, Sonia Smith; his parents, Ronnie and Debbie Smith, and Sheila Conger; his siblings, Davy Dunn, Brady Smith and wife, Skye, Brad Smith, Colton McAnlis and wife, Kevin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his children, three sons and one daughter: Baylon Smith and wife, Riley of Bunkerville, NV; Brisha Grebe and husband, Ryan of Mesquite, NV; Bristen Smith and wife, Brooke of Wells, TX, and Brazyn Smith of Wells, TX. He is also survived by 10 Grandkids: Hyker Grebe, Harklyn Grebe, Havalee Grebe, Skyler Smith, Hyland Grebe, Cedar Smith, Devyn Smith, Ridge Smith, Hollis Grebe, and Lane Smith; and his grandmother, Sue Smith.
Pallbearers will be Baylon Smith, Bristen Smith, Brazyn Smith, Ryan Grebe, Brady Smith, Brad Smith, and Ronnie Smith.
