Funeral services for Clyde Frank Harris, Jr., 81, of Huntington, will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Highway Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington with Brother Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow at Fielders Cemetery, Lufkin, Texas.
Mr. Harris was born on January 11, 1944, in Huntington, Texas to Clyde Frank Harris, Sr. and Lena Bell (Havard) Harris, and died Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Huntington.
Mr. Harris was a proud member of the United States Air Force and truly had a servant’s heart. He served on the Huntington ISD school board, as well as the City Council of Huntington. He also served as Mayor of the City of Huntington and Deacon of Highway Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed coaching community baseball and basketball leagues for many years.
He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, his beloved wife, of 61 years. He was a dearly loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He retired from both Texas Foundries and Sullivan Graphics printing company having a work ethic unmatched and heralded by his peers.
Frank was a 1962 graduate of Huntington High School where he was a 3-time state basketball champion. In 1971, he won the title of World Champion Bass Fisherman. He lived a life that is difficult to summarize in just a few paragraphs, and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Tracy Harris of Mount Enterprise; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Dana Harris of Nashville, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Jennifer Harris of Huntington; grandchildren, Tucker Harris, Kolton Harris and wife, Abby; Makenzie Williams and husband, Jake; Sadie Reeves and husband, Ryan; Blake Harris; and Corbin Harris; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Becky Harris; and sister, Cyndi Hopson.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 61 years, Wanda Harris; sister, Virginia Mosley; and sister, Peggy Arnold.
Pallbearers will be Tucker Harris, Kolton Harris, Blake Harris, Corbin Harris, Chad Arnold and Dean Mosley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Reeves, Jake Williams, and Bryce Richardson.
Special memorials may be made to Highway Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 212 S. Main St., Huntington, Texas, 75949.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Highway Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington.
