Funeral services for Constance “Connie” Haines, 87, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Dane Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Stryker Cemetery in Corrigan.
Mrs. Haines was born on September 17, 1937, in Houston, Texas, to the late Calvin Cornelius White and Emma Belle (Kennedy) White, and died Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in Lufkin.
Mrs. Haines enjoyed sewing, gardening, and traveling. She liked to watch a good western and was an avid reader. Most of all she was a strong Christian woman that loved her family including her fur baby Missy.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Sherri Haines of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Terri Haines of Bullard, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Emily and John Cavanaugh of Lufkin; grandson, Rusty Bailey of Bullard, TX; grandson, Caleb Haines of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Ryan and Shana Haines of Lufkin; granddaughter, Hannah White of Bronson, TX; grandson and wife, Dane and Karen Perkins of Virginia; granddaughter and husband, Elise and Dylan Clinton of Nacogdoches, TX; grandson, Eric Cavanaugh of Lufkin; granddaughter, Amy Masi of Lufkin; great-grandson, Gavin Gage Haines of Lufkin; great-grandson, Andrew Russell of Lufkin; and great-granddaughter, Bailee White of Bronson, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Freddy Haines; daughter Lynne Perkins; brother and sister-in-law, Frank “Son” and Mary Lee White; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Norma White; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Haines, Ryan Haines, Eric Cavanaugh, Dane Perkins, Andrew Russell, and Brandon White.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.
