Funeral services for Courtney Michelle Cassidy, 29, of Kingwood, Texas, will be held Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home with Reverend Winston Roach officiating. Interment will follow at Zavalla Cemetery in Zavalla, Texas.

           Ms. Cassidy was born on August 28, 1996, in Huntsville, Texas, to Paul Rodney Cassidy, Jr. and Monica (Weeks) Larrigan, and died Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in Kingwood.

          Courtney graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, Texas and received her associate’s degree from Lone Star College in Kingwood. She always had a lot of fur babies around her and she loved them dearly. She especially enjoyed taking her dogs for hikes on nature trails and along the beach.

          She is survived by her fiancé, Ricardo Mercado, Jr. of Kingwood; mother and step-father, Monica and Jeffrey Larrigan of Canadian, Oklahoma; father and step-mother, Paul and Naddia Cassidy of Spring, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Brandon Green of Zavalla, Texas; brother, Cage Cassidy of Spring, Texas; nieces, Shyanne and Hanna Green; grandparents, Irene Cassidy of Azle, Texas, and Paul and Millie Cassidy of Hemphill, Texas; uncle and aunt, Travis and Jennifer Weeks of Wells, Texas; uncle and aunt, Stephen and Brittaney Cassidy of Trinity, Texas; and uncle, John Cassidy of Azle, Texas.

           Courtney was preceded in death by her grandparents, Brooks Weeks and Alice Elliott; great-grandparents, William and Lila Weeks, J.D. and ImaJean Carlton Horn, Elmer and Lottie Gibson, and James and Marjorie Cassidy.

          Pallbearers will be Stephen Cassidy, John Cassidy, Randy Judalet, John Lawless, Wendell Phillips, Tom Cooper, Paul Cassidy, and Stephen Reece.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Isaac Gilley, Hayden Cassidy, Hunter Cassidy, and Cage Cassidy.

          Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home, and a reception will be held at the Zavalla school cafeteria, 431 E Main St, Zavalla, TX 75980, following the internment at Zavalla Cemetery.
