Memorial services for Curtis Eugene Gresham, 77, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Mike Fowler officiating.

          Mr. Gresham was born on August 29, 1946, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late John Aubery Gresham and Edith (Burroughs) Gresham, and died Saturday, April 27, 2024, after battling ongoing health issues.

          Curtis graduated from Central High School in 1964, where he was actively involved in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and basketball. His dedication and hard work led him to a more than a 40 year-long career at the Papermill, where he made lasting friendships and left a legacy of integrity and commitment. Throughout his life, Curtis touched the lives of many, and he will be missed but forever remembered for his warm smile, humor and unprecedented work ethic. He was well known for his generosity and his love of a warm cup of coffee.

          He is survived by his wife, Zuzelle (Jurado) Gresham; children, Curtis Gene Gresham Jr. (Krista), Judy Lynn Williford (David), and Montana Gresham (Shelby); grandchildren,  Bo/David Williford (Kristina), Baylon Williford (Estefani), Blaze Williford (Ella), and Remington Gresham; great-grandchildren, Thorp and Lottie Williford, Dominic, Sebastian, and Summer Williford; sister, Cheary Jacobs; along with numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

          He was preceded in death by his parents, John Aubrey and Edith Gresham; brother, Ricky Gresham; and nephew, Joshua Gresham.

          In honoring Curtis Eugene Gresham, may we find solace in the cherished memories he leaves behind and that his spirit continues to surround us.
