Memorial services for David John McConnell will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at LaLa Hill Baptist Church located at 1490 FM 844, Huntington, Texas 75949.
David John McConnell, 55, of Huntington, was born on December 19, 1969, in Roseville, California, the son of Patsy (Wright) McConnell and the late John McConnell, and died Friday, February 14, 2025, in Nacogdoches.
Usually, you would find David either working on cars or jamming to really loud rock music. He loved figuring out how cars or airplanes worked. He was extremely smart when it came to mechanics and would always lend a helping hand to friends or family if they needed their vehicle worked on. He played football in High School until an injury, went to Aviation Maintenance Professional (AMP) School to learn about airplane mechanics, and would often work together with his dad on two airplanes his dad owned. He also went to Angelina College to learn Drafting. He worked a lot of his life driving big trucks locally and out of state. He lived in California until he and his family moved to Texas in 1974.He always showed a lot of compassion and love for his family, children and grandchildren and would be there anytime they needed help.
He is survived by his mother, Patsy Lee McConnell of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Penny Lee and Michael Parker of Santa Fe, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Shari and Kevin Roden of Santa Fe, TX; sisters, Vickie McConnell of Santa Fe, TX, and Joan Gerik of Santa Fe, TX; son, Ryan McConnell; daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Seth Buckley; daughter, Aeryn McConnell; grandchildren, Lillian Buckley and Solomon Buckley; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his father, John McConnell; grandmother, Elaine McConnell; step-Grandfather, Jim Peppard; grandmother, Elizabeth Spann; step-grandfather John Spann; aunt, Sharon Hafner; uncle, Bob Roden; uncle, Patrick Wright; aunt, Linda Wright; along with numerous other relatives and friends
