Deborah Peterson

          Memorial services for Deborah Peterson, 61, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.

          Ms. Peterson was born June 24, 1959 in Lufkin, Texas to Dewaine Powell and Joan Middleton, and died Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Winnfield, Louisiana. 

          Debbie was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend.  She loved cooking, dancing, watching movies, and fishing.  Debbie took great pride in her garden and keeping her home immaculate.

          She is survived by her sons: Tyler Maugle and his partner Jona Tinnum of Manilla, Philippines, Blake Perry and his wife Amanda of Lufkin, Texas and Hunter Jones of Longview, Texas; grandchildren: Braxton Perry of Lufkin, Texas and Zayden Maugle of Manilla, Philippines; sisters: Dwaina Powell and Shelley Norsworthy; brothers: Jack Powell, Edward Bentley Jr., and Clem Bentley; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Allan Powell, and her sister Tammi Sharp.
