Dell Bridges

          Memorial services for Dell Bridges, 71, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin with Pastor Todd Core and Pastor John Greene officiating.

          Mrs. Bridges was born on April 22, 1954, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late C.D. “Bubba” Lowery and Kathryn (Bell) Wilowford, and died Monday, September 8, 2025, in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Bridges was a proud graduate of Lufkin High School and Stephen F. Austin State University. She dedicated over 20 years of her life to teaching, touching the lives of countless students. Mrs. Bridges was a devoted member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church for 44 years, she faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher for many of those years.

          She is survived by her son, Matthew Bridges of Austin, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Martin Lee and Allison Bridges of Lufkin; granddaughter, Lowery Kathryn Bridges of Lufkin; grandson, Gary John Bridges of Lufkin; sister, Margie Russell of Lufkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ona Gail and Kenneth Click of Lufkin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Paula Bridges of Lufkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Glenda and Billy Goodwin of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Liz Bridges of Lufkin; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Mary Carol and Arlin Grimes of Lufkin; and a host of friends at Harmony Hill Baptist Church and elsewhere.   

          She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Clyde Bridges; stepmother, Mildred Lowery; sister, Shelly Marriott; and brother-in-law, Ken Marriott.

          Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service.
