Derron Keith Johnson

          Memorial services for Derron Keith Johnson, 58, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, September 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Keltys United Methodist Church in Lufkin with Pastor Cindy Doran and Bishop M.E. Lyons officiating.

          Derron was born on March 14, 1965, in Lufkin, Texas, to Donald Ray Johnson and Debra Jean (Sisk) Johnson Hoge, and died Friday, September 1, 2023, in Houston.

          Derron was a member of Keltys United Methodist Church in Lufkin. He served as a music minister for many years and did so all over the country. Music was his passion. Derron worked in Loss Prevention for K-Mart in Seattle and Florida for many years. He worked at Goodwill for the last year, where he believed in their training in goodwill program.

          He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Josh Shrable of Florida; son, Taylor Johnson of Florida; son, Jordan Johnson of Florida; daughter, Melody Johnson of Florida; grandchildren, Caleb, Ella, Gideon, and Vivi Shrable, all of Florida; mother, Debra Hoge of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Belinda and David Kulesza of Florida; sister, LaDona Wagner of Lufkin; niece and husband, Michelle and Carmen Discepola of Florida; nephew, Michael Kulesza of Florida; Cory Wagner of Minnesota; niece, Megan Wagner of Lufkin; great nieces and great nephews, Carmen David, Caden, Izzy, Freyja, and Dahlia; and special friends, Miguel Diosdado and Balta Deleon.

          Derron was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Johnson; bonus dad, J. Fred Hoge; and grandparents, Marie (Blackburn) Taylor, Earl P. Taylor, Odis Johnson, and Nadine (Tindel) Johnson.
