Diane “Big Mama” Mettlen

          Graveside services for ­Diane “Big Mama” Mettlen, 57, of Pollok, will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Shooks Bluff Cemetery in Wells with Pastor Frank Doucette and Pastor Jessie Doucette officiating.

          Mrs. Mettlen was born December 29, 1963 in Glens Falls, New York, to William Allen and Patty (Falls) Allen, and died Friday, March 19, 2021 at her residence.

          Mrs. Mettlen was known as “Big Mama” to everyone. She loved fishing, the beach, and her grandchildren.

          Mrs. Mettlen is survived by her husband, Kenneth Mettlen of Pollok; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie Allen and Stormie Goodwin of Alto; son, Steven Mettlen of Pollok; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Mettlen and Jillian Thompson of Pollok; son, Daniel Mettlen of Alto; daughter, Julie Williamson of Pollok; grandchildren, Willie Mettlen, Kullen Allen, Robert Mettlen, and Sunnie Allen; sister, Rebecca Nelson of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Bo and Maryann Allen of Iowa; sister, Julie Luce of Alto; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Patty Allen; aunt, Gailynn Allen; and uncle, Jimmie Allen.

         Pallbearers will be Jimmy Allen, Steven Mettlen, James Smith, Joshua Bernatene, Daniel Mettlen, and Jessie Wallace.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Mettlen, Bradley Goodwin, Paul Proctor, Roger Soignet, and Tyler Williamson.

          Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon on Monday, March 22, 2021 to 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the home of Jimmie Allen located at 365 CR 2831 Alto, Texas 75925.
