Doris Jean Boles

           Funeral services for Doris Jean Boles, 65, of Diboll, will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Kenny Mayo officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery in Pollok.

          Doris Jean Boles was born on February 23, 1957, in Lufkin, Texas, to  the late Andrew Anderson Herring and Doris (Jones) Herring, and died Tuesday, February 21, 2023, in Diboll.

          Doris loved many things. She loved her family and was a mom to many kids. Her door was always open if you needed her. Doris enjoyed traveling, holidays, and loved Elvis. She also was an excellent cook.

          Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tommie and Joseph Archer of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Juan Garcia of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Rebecca Boles of Pollok; grandson and wife, Bennie and Morgan Garcia of Diboll; granddaughter, Chloe Boles of Pollok; granddaughter, Gabby Garcia of Diboll; great-grandson, Rhyder Moreland of Diboll; great-grandson, Ryan Neilson of Diboll; great-grandson, Riley Neilson of Diboll; sister, Vickie Rector of Pollok; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Halloway of Etoile; sister and brother-in-law, Melody and Amos Wallace of Pollok; brother and sister-in-law, Rickie and Deb Herring of Etoile; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Toni Herring of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Lisa Herring of Etoile; brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Brenda Herring of Pollok; brother-in-law and best friend, Wesley Rector Sr. of Lufkin; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 46 years, Tommy Boles; granddaughter, Jessica Darlene Willson; and great-grandson, Tommy Benjamin Garcia.

          Pallbearers will be Juan Garcia, Wesley Rector, Mark Nerren, Kenneth Nerren, Cody Nerren, Randy Herring, J.C. Conner, and  BJ Brewer.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Boles, Bennie Garcia, Joseph Archer, Tracy Nerren, Wesley Rector Sr. and Wayne Madden.

          Special memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Fl. 33607.

           Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home.
