Doyle Cathey

         Memorial services for Doyle Cathey, 72, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Redtown Missionary Baptist Church in Pollok with  Rev. Van Johnson and Bro. Corey Wilson officiating.

          Mr. Cathey was born on June 5, 1951, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Archie Nolan Cathey and Vinell (Nessmith) Cathey, and died Monday, August 7, 2023, in Lufkin.

          Mr. Cathey grew up in Pollok and lived there his entire life. 

          He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Jennifer Cathey of Alto; brother and sister-in-law, Archie and Doris Cathey of Pollok; sister-in-law, Mary Cathey of Lufkin; grandchildren, Austin Cathey and Justin Dunn, both of Alto; nephew, Jimmy Cathey and wife Cathy of Pollok; niece, Shelia Seymore and husband Derek of New Braunfels; niece, Teresa Layton and husband Brian of Pollok; along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

          Mr. Cathey was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Cathey; and brother, Kenneth Cathey.
