Funeral services for Elaine Wallace, 77, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Mark Forrest officiating. Interment will follow at Berry Cemetery in Lufkin.

         Elaine was born on October 10, 1948, in Bossier City, Louisiana, to the late J.B. Morton and Ruth (Menefee) Morton, and died Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at her residence.

         She was a member of True Vine Church and lived by her faith. Elaine lived life to the fullest, finding joy in the simple pleasures of family gatherings and shared laughter. She was a loving wife, mother, mamaw, and friend. Elaine never met a stranger; she only met friends she hadn’t gotten to know yet. She taught us that the best things in life aren’t things, but the moments we share with the people we loved.

         Elaine was a familiar and beloved face to many in our community, particularly through her years at Walmart. She had a unique gift for turning a simple errand into a meaningful connection, greeting every customer who came as if they were a member of her family.

        She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Foy and Yvette Wallace of Corpus Christi; daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Tommy Miller of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Troy and Eunice Morton of Longview; sister, Mary Ann Gamel of Longview; her best friend, Donna Lee, the Louise to her Thelma; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; special nieces, Phyllis Ann Barfield and Gina Puryear; along with other nieces and nephews.

        Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Gayland Foy Wallace Sr.; and sister, Janet Puryear.

        Pallbearers will be JonPaul Sinclair, Josh Waller, Rusty Spinks, Gavin Crawford, Francisco Romero, Tom Hutchison, and Steve Hutchison.

        The family would like to extend a special thanks to Harbor Hospice, nurse Rhonda.

        Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Shafer Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service.
