Elaine S. Coulter

          Memorial services for Elaine S. Coulter, 71, of Warren Texas, will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Minister Debra Davis officiating.

          Mrs. Coulter was born on August 20, 1952, shortly after her twin Evelyn in Alexandria, Louisiana, to the late Lemual and Mary Frances Bailey, and passed away with great sadness on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.

          Elaine was a dedicated mother not only to the children she had but to many others as well. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. Mrs. Elaine loved her role as nanny. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with passion. Even though she was battling an illness, it never stopped her from giving out the best hugs.

          She is survived by her daughter, Ramona Coulter Davis and son-in-law, James L. Davis, Jr. of Warren, TX; son, Kenneth Christian Coulter and daughter-in-law, Stacy Coulter of Zavalla, TX; grandchildren, Christin Deann Cantrell of Athens, TX, Cheyenne Destiny Monroe Davis and fiancé Blake Gillin of Zavalla, TX, James Lee Davis III and wife Robin of Round Rock, TX, and Honey Davis of Vidor, TX; great-grandchildren, Landon Greer, Jada Greer, Avery Miller, Lakely Gillin, Jordon Gillin, Christian Davis, Jacob Davis, Zachary Jones, Kiyah Davis, Nautica Davis, Casey Sadler, Samanatha Sadler, and Ross Sandler; siblings, Marie Alfaro of San Augustine, TX, Hollis Stanley and wife Brenda, Brenda Lakey and husband Paul, Sandy Stanley and wife Debra, Jimmy Stanley, her twin and special other half, Evelyn Stephens, and Teresa Staley and husband Earl; along with many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly as her own.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Christopher Daniel Greer; grandson, Nicolas Jerome Coulter; grandson, Dustin Kayleb Coulter; grandson, Richard Davis, Mary Bailey, Lemuel Stanley; grandmother, Virgi Bailey; sister, Rebecca Sheffield; and sister, Donna Francis.  

          There will be a family dinner following the service at Jessica and Brandon’s home, 782 Crippin Rd. in Huntington.
