Elvira Ramos

         Funeral services for Elvira Ramos, 82, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Diboll, Texas with Father Luis Arroyave officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Haven Cemetery.

          Mrs. Ramos was born on October 15, 1943, in Piedras Negras, Mexico, to  Emilio Zapata and Maria Rodriguez, and died Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Ramos loved searching for amazing finds at yard sales and thrift stores, and she was a lady of many talents. She was an amazing cook, made beautiful cakes for quinceañeras, and she was also an entrepreneur with a knack for making money and loved playing loteria. Mrs. Ramos was the best grandmother anyone could ask for, and she loved her family dearly. 

         She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Juan Ramos of Lufkin; daughter, Elvira Ramos of Jacksonville, Texas; son, Juan Ramos of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law, Ruben and Brenda Ramos of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Junior and Adriana Guillen of Jacksonville; grandson and wife, Juan and Adaline Guillen of Jacksonville; grandson, Acero Ramos of Lufkin; granddaughter, Diamante Ramos of Lufkin; grandson, Breeyo Ramos of Lufkin; granddaughter, Esmeralda Ramos of Lufkin; and granddaughter and husband, Ana and Jesse Solis of Lufkin.

          She was preceded in death by her parents.

          Pallbearers will be Ruben Ramos, Junior Guillen, Acero Ramos, Juan Ramos, Lio Guillen, and Jonathan Guillen.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
