Ernest "Mackie" Hill

          Ernest “Mackie” Hill, 64, of Lufkin, was born January 23, 1957, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Walter Lee Hill and Hazel (McConnell) Hill, and died Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in Lufkin.

          Mr. Hill was an avid bass fisherman and he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

          He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sarah Hill of Lufkin; sons, Tyler Hill and Coby Hill, both of Lufkin; grandson, Oliver Hill of Lufkin; granddaughter, Rynlee Hill of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Johnnie Sue Hill of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Kitty and Mike Brower of Gracemont, OK; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sue Shilling.

          Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
