Funeral services for Ernestine (Faussett) Bryan, 91, of Huntington, will be held Friday, December 20, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington with Bro. Burl McBride officiating. Interment will follow at Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery.

            Mrs. Bryan was born on July 29, 1933, in Shelby County, Texas, to the late William Marshall Faussett and Maggie K. (Griffin) Faussett, and died Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at her residence.

            Mrs. Bryan graduated from Lufkin High School in 1952. She was in the Drum and Bugle Corp. Mrs. Bryan worked for the United States Postal Service as Postmaster for 25 years in Broaddus, Wells, and Huntington. After she retired, she worked at The Angelina County Farmers Market, and LaMarices Dress Shop in Huntington. Mrs. Bryan was baptized at McKendree Baptist Church in 1944 and then served as a member of Pine Forrest Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington for 64 years. 44 years of which, she taught Children’s Sunday School. Mrs. Bryan was the member of the unofficial Dress Shop Society, President of PTCO 1965, and Charter member of Huntington Blue Grass serving as President, Secretary, and Treasurer. She was also a 59 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 938 serving as Worthy Matron in 1970, Huntington Genealogy and Historical Society and Angelina County Genealogy.

            Mrs. Bryan is survived by her sons, Robert Darrell Bryan and Berlin M. Bryan, both of Huntington; grandchildren, Timfany and Mike Garcia of Huntington, Kasey and Shelby Bryan of Huntington, Justin and Brittni Miles of Wells, Jeremy and Shelby Bryan of Huntington, and Chassidy Bryan of Zavalla; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Waymon F. Bryan; brothers, B.B. Faussett and W.O. Faussett; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Bryan.

            Pallbearers will be Kasey Bryan, Justin Miles, Jeremy Bryan, Mike Garcia, Brayden Garcia, Brycen Miles, Carson Marshall, and Kaysen Bryan.

            Honorary pallbearers will be Weston Bryan and Brynton Miles.

           The family would like to extend a special thanks to her care team.

            Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Pine Forest Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington.
