Francisco “Pancho” Salvador Garcia Olivas

          Funeral service for Francisco “Pancho” Salvador Garcia Olivas, 68, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Pastor Rolando Gonzalez officiating. Interment will follow at Largent Cemetery.  

          Mr. Francisco was born on June 27, 1957, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to the late Leopoldo Garcia and Librada (Olivas) Garcia, and died Monday, August 25, 2025, in Lufkin.

          Mr. Francisco was a Christian man that loved his church. He was very faithful to God. Mr. Francisco had a heart for helping others and was very forgiving. He found joy in making others laugh with a good joke. Mr. Francisco was a very strong and determined man. When it came to others needs he would always put them before his own.     

          He is survived by his son and fiancé, Luis Garcia and Alexis Downing of San Antonio, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Francisco and Carolina Garcia of Lufkin; son and partner, David Garcia and Kaitlyn Orouke of Lufkin; daughter, Jacqueline Garcia of Dallas, TX; grandson, Isaac Garcia; grandson, Ivan Garcia; grandson, Damien Garcia; grandson, Matteo Garcia; granddaughter, Bella Rose Garcia; grandson, Charlie Garcia; grandson, Norman Orouke; granddaughter, Lilliana Garcia; brother, Antonio Garcia of Mexico; best friend, Memo Lopez of Lufkin; and adopted son, Michael Rivera.    

          He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Petra and Loretto Garcia; and brothers, Abel, Chuy, Alfonso Garcia, and Pastor Ruben Luna.

          Pallbearers will be Luis Garcia, Francisco Garcia, David Garcia, Jacqueline Garcia, Isaac Garcia, Memo Lopez, Michael Rivera, and Esiquio Gonzales.

          Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Ministry team at Viento Suave Fellowship Iglesia.  

          Special memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.
