George Henry Anderson Obituary

           Funeral services for George Henry Anderson, 82, of Waelder, will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Pastor Ty Phillips officiating. Following will be an Interment at Old Union Cemetery in Lufkin and an informal dinner at Cross Road Baptist Church in Lufkin.

            Mr. Anderson was born on August 16, 1941, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Silas Paul Anderson and Leona (Singleton) Anderson, and died Saturday, June 1, 2024, in San Marcos, Texas.

            Mr. Anderson retired after 38 years of service as a Houston police officer. He had many hobbies which included bowling, hunting, fishing, ranching, mowing, and spending time with his dogs and grand dogs. Mr. Anderson cherished time with family and friends, especially with police officer and bowling friends. He was a kind, loving, and supportive father and grandfather. Mr. Anderson was a friend and loyal comrade to everyone who knew him. His wittiness, sense of humor, and smile was ever-present.

            Mr. Anderson is survived by his son, Geroge Kevin Anderson of Magnolia, TX; son, David Paul Anderson of Magnolia, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Colleen Denise Anderson and Bryan Keith Joyce of New Braunfels, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Rose and Todd Buckler Endicott of Half Moon Bay, CA; grandson, Victor Alexander Acquarola of Spicewood, TX; grandson, Anthony Paul Acquarola of Spicewood, TX; grandson, George Brett Anderson of Magnolia, TX; grandson, Cedric Falcon Endicott of Half Moon Bay, CA; great-granddaughter, Amelia Lillyana Acquarola of San Marcos, TX; great-grandson, Angelo Alex Demetrious Mo Acquarola of San Marcos, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur Lee and Sandra Kay Anderson of Houston, TX; brother-in-law and wife, Richard Dilmus and Glenda S. Kanady; along with many loving nieces and nephews.

           He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melody Marlene Anderson; siblings, Charles Paul Anderson, David Eugene Anderson, Corbett Wallace Anderson, and Mary Frances Schisser.

            Pallbearers will be Richard Dilmus Kanady, George Kevin Anderson, David Paul Anderson, Victor Alexander Acquarola, Anthony Paul Acquarola, and George Brett Anderson.  

            Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Keith Joyce, Todd Buckler Endicott, Cedric Falcon Endicott, Victor Americo Acquarola Jr., and Charles Michael Anderson, Jr.
