George grew up in Lufkin and married the love of his life Kathy August 19, 1966. Together the couple had three children, Melissa, Mark and James. George was beloved by all and never met a stranger. Using his passion for cars, he worked at various auto parts stores over the East Texas area. George then began his career at the Lufkin Paper Mill where he retired after 23 years, but not for long. Together with his wife Kathy, they opened Kathy’s Boutique where he designed and repaired jewelry and watches for his beloved customers for 12 years, finally retiring in 2010. George loved the Lord and loved to tell others about his faith and how they too could give their life over to their Lord and Savior. Over the last nine years, he was a devoted Sunday school teacher and Elder at Broken Vessels Church on Hwy 103E where he was proud his son Mark is a pastor. George could always be found giving out bibles and witnessing for the Lord. He was a member of The Gideons International. George was loved by many, but no more than by his family who stretched across several generations.
