George Michael Cahill Jr.

          Memorial services for George Michael Cahill, 57, of Lufkin, will be held at a later date.

          Mr. Cahill was born on November 27, 1967, in Delaware, to  the late step-father John Waylon Cox. and Victoria Lynn (Lennox) Cox, and died Monday, June 23, 2025, in Lufkin.

          George loved hunting and fishing.  He really enjoyed hanging out with family and friends.  Everyone said he was a “Champ”. 

          He is survived by his daughter, Liz Flesher; girlfriend, Sarena McDonald; brother and sister-in-law, William “Skippy” and Patricia “Sissy” Lennox; brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Hilbert; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Billy Grimes; brother, Daniel Thomas; aunts, Linda Price and Alice Desiderato; nieces and nephews, Anna and Dustin Snow, Patricia McElroy, Charles Lennox, Calvin and Maranda Grimes, Krista Hinkle, Dylon Hinkle, Jennifer Hilbert, Rachel Hilbert, Hunter Thomas, Dustin Thomas, Harley Thomas, and Jessica Mahr; close family friends, Shannon Vandarwarka, Kim (Thomas) Faulkner, Rene Strickland, Deyenne Morgan, Sheyenn Johnson, Robin Apshire, Tommy Wilcox, and Sandra Wilcox.

          He was preceded in death by his step-father and mother, John Waylon and Victoria Lynn (Lennox) Cox; great nephew, Tyler Turner; uncles, Edward (Butchie) Lennox, Billy Lennox, Harold Lennox; and close family friend Rickey Apshire.
