Georgia Clifton

          A Visitation for Georgia Clifton, 73, of Lufkin will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Clifton was born May 11, 1947 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of Nola Cheatom and Willie Moore, and died Friday, September 11, 2020 at her residence.

          Mrs. Clifton loved her family and her dog, Cassie, who was like her child.

          She is survived by her husband, Virgle Smith of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Mickie Clifton of Pollok; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Jim Roper of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Thresa Smith of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Missy Smith of Lufkin; son, Steven Smith of Lufkin; son, David Smith of Dallas; son, Gary Smith of Lufkin; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her beloved Yorkie, Cassie; sister, Reba Hutson of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Shirley Moore of Huffman; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

          Mrs. Clifton was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Henry Moore, William Moore, and Michael Moore; sister, Laverne Osburn; brothers-in-law, W.Z. & J.R.; nephew, Randy Matteson; and niece, Anne O’Brien.
