Graveside services for Gerald Dennis “Jerry” Richson, 83, of Lufkin, Texas, were held Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Hill Cemetery in Huntington, Texas.

          Mr. Richson was born on August 15, 1943, in Park Falls, Wisconsin, to the late Vern Richson and the late Hilda (Magdalin) Richson, and died September 8, 2026, in Lufkin.

          Jerry was a man who lived life fully through his many passions, whether he was out in nature hunting and fishing, dirt track racing, or tinkering under the hood of a car. When he wasn't keeping active with his hands, he could often be found contentedly watching his favorite wrestling matches and western movies. Above all, Jerry was defined by his selfless nature, always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and leaving behind a legacy of kindness and generosity.   

          He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Marie Richson of Lufkin; daughter, Brenda Therrell of Virginia; grandson, Chris Richson of Virginia; granddaughter and husband, Heather and Stephen Emerson of Huntington; sister, Cathy Whiting of Hayward, Wisconsin; sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and Roger Sack of Park Falls, Wisconsin; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Amy Richson of Wisconsin; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Michele Rushing of Lufkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Michelle and Mayburn Greening of Hudson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Nellie Rushing of Lufkin.

          Mr. Richson was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, John Seiffert; son, Dale Richson; first wife, Sharon Richson; sister, Sharon Beaumont; and brother, Bob Richson.
