Memorial services for Harold Witherspoon, 76, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home with Bro. Nathan Pannell officiating.
Mr. Witherspoon was born on March 21, 1947, in Hereford, Texas, to the late Buck Witherspoon and Doris Ruth (Cox) Witherspoon, and died Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at his home.
Mr. Witherspoon worked as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was a good husband and loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Mr. Witherspoon had many hobbies, including R/C airplane flying, fishing, racecars, and antique cars. He enjoyed eating out at Del Rio and Golden Corral. Mr. Witherspoon would help anyone that was in need.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (Still) Witherspoon of Lufkin; daughter, Marie Sweet and husband Edward of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Michelle Witherspoon of Lufkin; grandchildren, Blake Witherspoon, Steven Witherspoon, Hannah Handeland, Bradford Wales, Dakota Ellis, Christina Taylor, and Tanner Morgan; and great-grandchildren, Alana Witherspoon, Skylar Witherspoon, Landen Witherspoon, Emily Witherspoon, Jasper Ellis, Bryleigh Ellis, Maddison Ellis, Bentley Taylor, Beau Taylor, and Creed Taylor.
Mr. Witherspoon was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tom Witherspoon; sister, Loreta Perkins; and brother, Tom Witherspoon and Aubrey Rose Witherspoon.
