Hattie Jean (Humphries) Parker

          Graveside services for Hattie Jean (Humphries) Parker, 75, of Lufkin, residing in Tyler, will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at McKindree Cemetery in Lufkin with Bro. John Williams officiating.

          Mrs. Parker was born on June 14, 1949, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Jack Parker and Joyce (English) Parrott, and died Friday, November 15, 2024, in Tyler, Texas.

          Mrs. Parker was of the Christian faith and worked for Lufkin Daily News for 20 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and embroidery. Mrs. Parker loved her soap operas, especially General Hospital and Criminal Minds. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids.

          She is survived by her daughter, Katrinka Carnes of Burke; son and daughter-in-law, Emery and Darcy Humphries of Arkansas; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Trista Humphries of Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jimmy Williams of Lufkin; son, Sammy Humphries of Diboll; sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Ray Ener of Mississippi; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Doug Gore of Woodville; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other close family members.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emery R. Humphries, Sr.; son, Ricky Humphries; brother, Vernith Parrott; sister, Linda Calloway; and brother, Leroy Parrott.

          Pallbearers will be Dustin Humphries, Sam Humphries, Zackary Williams, Mollie Williams, Dawson Norman, Kaiden York, Chasity Carnahan, and Kaitlyn Humphries.

          Honorary pallbearers will be James Humphries, Stephen Humphries, Jimmy Humphries, Payton Norman, Jaydon Norman, TJ Humphries, Emery Humphries III, and David Calloway.

          Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
