Obituary
Memorial services for Herman Strauss, 90, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 12:00 noon at the E.M.G Chapel at Garden Of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin with Pastor Trey Thompson and Pastor Jason Huffman officiating.
Mr. Strauss was born on July 2, 1932, in Diboll, Texas, to the late Paul W. Strauss and Artimesce (Weeks) Strauss, and passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Lufkin.
Mr. Strauss was raised in the rural community of Beulah, TX. He graduated from Lufkin High School in 1950 and soon after served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Strauss then went on to further his education at Lamar University and graduated in 1959. He then entered the oil business and retired after 39 years as Sr. V.P. from Dresser – Halliburton.
He is survived by his 4 children, Stan Strauss of College Station, TX; Susan Jenkins of Rockport, TX; Amy Elizabeth Eberly of Cape Canaveral, FL; and John Strauss of Lufkin; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wanda Strauss, and son, Paul Strauss.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Alford Hambrick, Rudy Engelke, Van Scarborough, Tom Squyres, Joe Black, and Melvin Linton.
