Ina Mae Roach

          Graveside services for Ina Mae Roach, 88, of Diboll, will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Ryan Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Kenny Hibbs officiating.

          She was born May 6, 1929 in Emilee, Texas, the daughter of the late Sanford Alexander Smith, Jr. and Mary Ada (Monic) Smith, and died Friday, April 20, 2018 in Lufkin.

          Ms. Roach attended Burke Baptist Church in Burke, Texas, and was baptized at Wolf Creek in Emilee, Texas. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, collecting music boxes, and was a very talented cake decorator.

Ms. Roach is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Hugh A. Howard Jr. of Humble; daughter, Sandra Matkin of Porter; daughter, Mary K. Teutsch of Diboll; son and fiancé, Jay M. Roach and Tina of Diboll; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Michelle and Roy Smith of Diboll; grandchildren, Heather, Laci, Michael, Chip, Lesley, Mandy, John Wesley, Ina Meagan, Jade, Johnathon, Jayden, and Wyatt; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Smith of Woodville, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

          She is preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Dubose Peters; second husband, James Marcus Roach; grandson, Robert Donald Matkin; sons-in-law, Robert Earl Matkin and Wesley Teutsch; brothers, James, Leroy, Junior, and Paul Edward Smith; and sister, Bernice Smith Rawls.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Ms. Roach’s grandsons and great-grandsons.

          The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity Mission Nursing Home for the 10 years of loving care that was given to Ms. Roach, and most recently, the staff at Larkspur Transitional Care.
