Memorial services for Iona Mae Scarborough, 79, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at The Foundry Church in Lufkin with Rev. Kelly Ward officiating.

        Mrs. Scarborough was born on January 9, 1947, in Brownwood, Texas, to the late David Clinton Green and Etta Lorraine (McAlphine) Green, and died Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Lufkin.

        Mrs. Scarborough was a loving mother and grandmother. Spending time with family making amazing memories was one of her favorite things to do. Iona enjoyed dressing up, going out to dinner with her husband, and listening to her favorite band at Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp. She also took great pleasure in “hanging out” with her best friends and neighbors Nelda and Johnny. Some of her favorite hobbies were listening to local bands, shopping and crocheting.  She also adored her fur baby, Precious with all her heart.

        Mrs. Scarborough is survived by her husband of 32 years, John D. Scarborough of Lufkin; son, Roland Chase and wife Elva of Alice, TX; son, Russell Chase of Alice, TX; daughter, Tonya Dininno and partner Randy Hinson of Orange Grove, TX; daughter-in-law, Candida Chase of Alice, TX; grandchildren, Joshua Chase and wife Rossy, Joseph Chase and wife Vanessa, Randi Hinson, Clinton Hinson, Jonathon Hinson, Jacob Chase, and Nicholas Chase; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Cecil Thompson; and sister-in-law, Janet Cooney and husband Peter.

        She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol Thompson; and son, Bobby Chase.
