Jack Harris Jordan Obituary

A Celebration of Life Service to honor the life of Jack Harris Jordan, 74, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas, with Brother Steve Cowart officiating.

Mr. Jordan was born on September 8, 1951, in Center, Texas, to Charles Jordan and Jacqueline Harris-Crawford, and died Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.

After his graduation from Lufkin High School, Jack enlisted in the Navy where he served 8 years in various parts of the world including Hawaii, the Philippines, and Thailand. Jack returned to Lufkin where he worked as a mechanic, and then as a parts manager for a number of years. Jack and Susie wed in 1990 and spent 35 loving years together. Jack then decided to follow his passion for helping others and attended nursing school at Angelina College and became a registered nurse in 2002. Jack retired from nursing in 2016 and he and Susie began using their newly found free time to travel the United States, road tripping to Maine, the Grand Canyon, Big Bend National Park, and many other destinations. Jack’s greatest devotion was to his wife Susie. They were true companions, finding comfort, laughter, and meaning in simply being together.

Outside of his work, Jack enjoyed a variety of activities. He loved to cook for his family, spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and exploring the outdoors, and music. Jack began playing guitar in his teens and always showed a love for music and sharing it with others throughout his life. Jack built connections that endured, giving freely of his time, kindness, and spirit. His circle of friends and his family connections are a testament to the way he lived.

Jack is survived and missed by his loving wife, Susie Jordan; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Anthony Vu; son, Jacob Jordan; daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Robert Davis; son and daughter-in-law, Zach and Christina Ray. He will be forever cherished and remembered by his five grandchildren, Carson Davis, Hayden Ray, Cole Davis, Zane Ray, and Julie Heaton-Fanning. Jack is also survived by his sister, Kay Jordan; brother, Jesse Graves; sister, Laura Coffman, brother, Pete Crawford, and sister, Louann Cochran.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddy Redd, Andy Anderson, Travis Nerren, David Patterson, Roger Rice, Morty Halyard, and Ray Funderburk.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.
