James Edward McDougald

          Memorial services for James Edward McDougald, 60, of Pollok, will be held Saturday 2:00 pm, November 22, 2025, at Grace Baptist Church in Lufkin, Texas.

          Mr. McDougald was born on April 5, 1965, in Lufkin, Texas to the late Fred McDougald and Venita Basham Knight. He passed away on November 7, 2025, in a Houston hospital.         

        James worked at Texas Foundries and Lufkin Industries for many years. He loved his family fiercely and was the best husband , father, Babbaw, and friend anyone could ask for. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and any outdoor activities. James’ life was one of love and devotion to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. 

        He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Justin Oliver of Pollok, Texas; mother, Venita Basham Knight of Hudson; granddaughter, Hailey McDougald of Pollok; granddaughter, Mallori Oliver of Pollok; great-grandson, Rhett Meadows of Pollok; great-grandson, Holden Ross of Pollok; sister and brother-in-law, Tessa and Joseph Headrick of Pollok; aunt and uncle, Doris and Randy Stephens of Pollok; sister-in-law, Ruby Sweat of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Kay Whisenant of Hudson; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

          Mr. McDougald was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Rose McDougald; father, Fred McDougald; and grandparents, James and Bernice Basham.
