Jaried Wayne Madden

            Funeral services for Jaried Wayne Madden, 84, of Pollok, will be held Monday, July 31, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Kenneth Mayo officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery in Lufkin.

            Mr. Madden was born on October 1, 1938, in Grand Saline, Texas, to the late Emmitt Foster Madden and Martha Inez (Attikisson) Madden, and died Thursday, July 27, 2023, in Lufkin.

            Jaried enjoyed fishing and playing poker.  He loved his family, especially his daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law.  Jaried also loved to play bingo and was often found sharing jokes.  He proudly served in he United States Air Force as a Fire Marshall for crash and rescue from 1957 to 1967.  He was a good man and helped anyone he could.

            He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jaried and Gina Madden Jr. of Longview, TX; daughter, Margaret Madden of El Paso, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Tony Boles of Pollok, TX; grandchildren, Heather, Emily, Angel, and Zack Valdez of El Paso TX; granddaughter,  Chloe Jean Boles of Pollok, TX;  sister Ruthie Chote of Grand Saline, TX;  furbaby, Lulu; and a number of nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 29 years, Linda Madden; brothers, Dale and John Madden; and sisters, Gloria Minatrea, Wanda Sparks, and Wilda Koonce; and stepson, Ralph Adams.

            Pallbearers will be Juan Garcia, Bennie Garcia, Joey Archer, Wesley Rector, Kenneth Nerren, and Cody Nerren.

            Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Modisette and Bill Williams.

            Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home.
