Funeral services for Jean Mills, 95, of Redland, will be held Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Bro. Ty Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at McKindree Cemetery.

          Mrs. Mills was born on July 8, 1929, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late John Hardy Fredregill and Velma Lee (Cheatham) Fredregill, and died Saturday, April 5, 2025, in Lufkin.

          Mrs. Mills was a member of Redland Baptist Church for many years and loved her Lord and Savior. She was a down home country girl, who loved to fish and work in her garden. Mrs. Mills also enjoyed reading, crocheting, and traveling.

          She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Mary Ann Mills of Lufkin; son, Gary “Skeeter” Mills of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Nanette “Sissy” and Kelly Foster of Halifax, VA; grandchildren, Britton Mills of Lufkin, Bertran Grillette of Lufkin, Carrie Myers of Corpus Christi, Johnny Mills, Jr. and wife Shawna of Lufkin, Emily Mills of Lufkin, Diane Rodriguez of Lufkin, Kayce Mills of Alabama, Gary Mills, Jr. of Lufkin, and Angela Cope and husband Michael of Halifax, VA; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

          Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Mills; son, Johnny Mills; and sister, Oma Faris.

          Pallbearers will be Britton Mills, Johnny Mills, Jr., Warren Faris, Steve Faris, Kevin Malone, and Gary Mills, Jr.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Bertran Grillette, Mickey Faris, Ryan Mills, and Ryan Rodriguez.

          Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.
