Jeanette Neal Obituary

          Graveside services for Jeanette Neal, 76, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Homer Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas, with Father Denzil Vithanage officiating.


          Mrs. Neal was born on October 17, 1949, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Frank Tomez and the late Mary Jane Tomez, and died on Monday, July 13, 2026, in Elkhart, Texas.


          Jeanette passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of Joe Bob Neal, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love.


          Jeanette was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She loved cooking, sewing, tending her garden, and hosting family gatherings that brought everyone together. She also delighted in spoiling her beloved grand-fur babies who held a special place in her heart. She was a devoted fan of the Eagles rock band.


          A woman of deep faith, Jeanette lived by her convictions and remained steadfast in her beliefs throughout her life. She was fiercely loyal, and if she loved you, she loved you with her whole heart. Her family was her greatest blessing, and she loved them without exception.


          Jeanette’s legacy of faith, love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of her family who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.


          She is survived by her husband, Joe Bob Neal of Elkhart; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Shannon Hanks of Elkhart; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Keith Burton of Kingsland, Texas; grandson, Brett Wischnewsky of Austin; great-granddaughter, Shelby Wischnewsky of Austin; brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Ann Tomez of Lufkin; brother Raymond Tomez of Huntington, Texas; sister, Ruby Johnson of Waskom, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much.


          Mrs. Neal was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy Tomez; sister, Janie Neal; brother, Ennis Tomez; and sister, Betty Jo Johnson.


          Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Tomez, Scott Tomez, Michael Johnson, John Johnson, Stephen Johnson, Jerry Johnson, and Melvin Johnson, Jr.
