Graveside services for Jerri Gwen Johnson Rector, 64, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Largent Cemetery in Lufkin with Bro. John Harvey and Jeff Fuller officiating.

          Mrs. Rector was born on December 19, 1959, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Herbert Lee Johnson and Hester (Estelle) Williams, and died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Lufkin surrounded by her family.

          Mrs. Rector enjoyed fishing, camping, animals, and working in the yard. Jerri loved her family more than anything and found joy in spending time with her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

          She is survived by her husband of 26 years Steven Rector of Lufkin; son and wife, Jimmy and Regina McDonald of Corrigan; son and wife, Micheal and Sara McDonald of Corrigan; grandson, Cody McDonald of Corrigan; granddaughter and husband, Celena and Brent Allman of Corrigan; grandson and wife, Wes And Alissa Cockrell of Corrigan; granddaughter and husband, Chelsyee and Ryan Vogl of Tennessee; grandson, Luke McDonald; granddaughter, Aspen McDonald; granddaughter, Deliah Stringer; grandson, Brecken McDonald; great-grandchildren, Allie Mercer, Iggy Mercer, Tucker Cockrell, Easton McDonald, Jessie Mae McDonald, and Stetson McDonald; sisters, Joycie Barringer, Martha Cole, Nellie Kay Whisenant; brother, John Johnson; along with numerous nieces and nephews.    

          She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Hester Johnson; sister Marie Fuller; and brothers, T.J. Johnson, Herbert Johnson, and James Johnson.

          Pallbearers will be Willie Thomas, Robert Cole, Hunter Thomas, Tommy McFarland, Jason Gann, Eric Whisenant, and Ryan Vogl.

          Honorary pallbearers will be Cody McDonald, and Luke McDonald.

          Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home.
