Jimmy Grimes

          Graveside services for Jimmy Ray Grimes, 75, of Sealy TX, will be held Friday, July 31, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. at Gann Cemetery in Lukfin with Dennis Gray officiating.

          Mr. Grimes was born August 23, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas, to Norris Evada Grimes and Veda B. Bass, and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2020 in Trinity, TX.

          Mr. Grimes loved watching game shows and old westerns and spending quality time with his family.  He was non-denominational by faith.  He had many friends, family, and neighbors who will miss his sweet nature and generous spirit.  Jimmy was loved by all his family and friends.  He has a kind and caring heart, although his life was not easy he didn’t complain.  He wanted to take care of those he loved.

          Mr. Grimes is survived by his daughter, Melinda Burtt of Trinity, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina and Josh Romo of Trinity, TX; sons, Timothy Grimes and Jimmy Grimes Jr. of Conroe, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and C.B. Gray of Lufkin, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Gary Fults of Sealy, TX; grandchildren, Savanna Balerio, Laura Latz, Lindashay Jones, Desarae Nichole Balerio, Samantha Crockett, Jonathan Grimes, Isabella Grimes, Rashannie Grimes, Nautica Grimes, Tyler Romo, Mason Romo; great-grandchildren, Karis, Cameron, Brianna, Dominic, Whitley, Brendan, Miya, Grace, Aviary, Nathan, Hayden, Zoey, and Kylie; along with a host of other extended family and friends.

          He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Faye (Helms) Grimes; granddaughter, Tiffany Ann Knight; brother, James Grimes; brother, Edward Grimes; sister, Marie Grimes Westermari; and his parents, Norris and Veda Grimes.

          Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 31, 2020 at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
