Funeral services for Joann (Bell) Denby, 90, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Keltys United Methodist Church in Lufkin with Rev. Cindy Doran officiating. Interment will follow at Pollok Cemetery.
Mrs. Denby was born on December 1, 1933, to the late James F. Bell and Lettie Joy (Durham) Bell in Pollok, Texas, where she never lived 20 miles from. She passed away in her home on Saturday, June 1, 2024, with her family surrounding her.
Joann was a stay at home mom for several years and spent the rest of her years working for Wells and Central school districts, and secretary to County Judge Dan Jones. She was known to many through her real estate business, Heritage Country and through her years of public service as Angelina County Treasurer.
Joann was a devoted United Methodist Church member at Falvey Memorial Methodist Church and Keltys United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Dennis Luna, Karen and Larry Macias, Susan Madden, and Amy and Don Coker; son, Blake Denby; grandchildren, Chris Luna, Brett Standifird, Elizabeth Bomer, Lindsey Waters, Scarlett Herrera, Megan Macias, Austin Turner, Carling Cardwell, Leslie Paul Denby, Eric Denby, Tamesha Denby, Katherine Rhodes, Jayme Turley, April Shurley, Misti Gardnier, Jack Denby, and Emily Denby; 24 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Denby; son, Paul Denby; brother and sister-in-law, Jim Gordon and Elise Bell; and niece, Bonnie Bell.
Pallbearers will be Josh Bell, Eric Denby, Austin Turner, Dustin Smith, Colton Standifird, Jason Bomer, Nathan Herrera, Daniel Turley, and Jonathan Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Williams, Travis Glover, Larry Bailey, and Mike Ecker.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her great-niece Caroline Jones for all of her love and care.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home.
