Jody Rinken

          Memorial services for Jody Rinken, 63, of Lufkin, will be held at a later date.

          Ms. Rinken was born on February 5, 1961, Iowa City, Iowa, and died Friday, October 18, 2024, at her residence.

          Through the eyes of her children, Ms. Rinken was everything: big-hearted, devoted, strong, bright, and witty. Her first priority was always her family; her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. She loved going on family vacations and attending music concerts, and she had a passion for crafting, with an entire room dedicated to her creative projects. Her presence cannot be captured in just a few sentences. She will continue to bring us comfort and smiles through the fond memories she left behind.

           Ms. Rinken is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Jenny Rinken of Cadillac, MI; daughter, Sarah Rinken of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Nate and Katie Rinken of Sheffield, IA; granddaughter, Crystal Howe of Manton, MI; grandson, Michael Howe of Spencer, IA; granddaughter, Makenna Howe of Cadillac, MI; granddaughter, Coral Rinken of Sheffield, IA; granddaughter, Keara Wood of Sheffield, IA; granddaughter, Alyssa Wood of Sheffield, IA; 4 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, DeAnna and Mike Martin of Fort Myers, FL; brother, Terry Knutson of Greenville, IA; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Lisa Knutson of Greenville, IA; and father, Donald George Osterson of Greenville, IA.

          She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Lou (Walstrom) Osterson; and husband, Kelly Rinken.

          Honorary pallbearers will be her church family, Cornerstone Baptist Church.

          The family would like to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice. Oscar, Wendy, Kelsy, thank you for making my mom’s last wishes happen.
