Juan "Johnny" Gutierrez

          A Visitation for Juan “Johnny” Gutierrez, 53, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.

          Johnny was born on April 30, 1970, in Crystal City, Texas, to Jose Luis Gutierrez and Marisela (Cantu) Gutierrez, and died Thursday, April 18, 2024, in Conroe.

          Johnny was man of God as well as a family man. He especially enjoyed making his children’s birthday cakes. Johnny was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working on cars. He was a simple country man who loved to fish and go camping.

          Johnny is survived by his wife, Susan Gutierrez of Spring; daughters, Sarah Mitchell of Magnolia, Tori Thorndyke of Spring, and Laura Gutierrez of Spring; granddaughter, Chloe Mitchell of Houston; granddaughter, Addison Mitchell of Spring; mother, Marisela Gutierrez of Lufkin; brother and sister-in-law, Jose L. and Samantha Gutierrez of Clear Lake; sister and brother-in-law, Esmeralda and Carlos Balderas of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Mike Berta of Clearwater, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Jaime and Yvonne Gutierrez of Baytown; brother, Jimmie Gutierrez of Crystal City; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dana and Mike Smith of Nacogdoches; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

          He was preceded in death by his father, Jose L. Gutierrez, Sr.
