Juan Sanchez Rosales Obituary

             A Mass of Christian Burial for Juan Sanchez Rosales, 80, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lufkin with Fr. Jose Marin officiating with readings by Maria Mijares. Interment will follow at Forest Haven Cemetery in Diboll.

            Juan Sanchez Rosales was born on March 5, 1944, in Valparaiso Zacatecas, Mexico. He lived most of his life in Lufkin, Texas. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who sadly left our world February 16, 2025, after a long-time battle with various health issues.

            Juan was a member of St Patrick’s Catholic church where he played the acoustic guitar for many years until he was unable to due to health issues. He worked at Pilgrim’s Pride in Nacogdoches, Texas until he retired.

            He was blessed with many gifts. He was a carpenter and could build home or make toys out of wood. He could also do plumbing, electric, and various handy work. His way of giving back to family and friends was by using his gifts. Remodel or whatever handyman issue was asked of him he was ready to help down to painting or even lawn work.

         Survivors include his wife, Maria Teresa Rosales; children, Jessica Garcia, Laura Rosales-Campos, John Carrillo Rosales, Sonia Rosales Espino; grandchildren, Stephanie Ryan, Zoe Gamez, Julian Garcia, Rickson A. Campos, Daniel Campos, Robert V. Campos Jr. Nayleeha A. Rosales, Gabriella J. Espino, and Juleean Espino; brothers and sisters, Fernando Rosales, Ricardo Rosales, Angela Trevino, Martha Fuentes, and Amado Rosales; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by his father and mother Antonio and Maria Ascension Rosales, siblings Jose, Manuel, Maria de Jesus, Juanita, Pedro Rosales, and John Rosales.

            Blessed are those that morn, for they will be comforted. Mathew 5:4

            Pallbearers will be Robert Campos, Gabriel Espino, Fernando (Nano) Rosales, Daniel Campos, and Rickson A. Campos.

            Honorary pallbearers will be Fernando Rosales, Ricardo Rosales, Amado Rosales, and Leticia Ibarra Ferman.

            The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Deacon Juan Jose Mijares.
