Memorial services for Judith Lynn (Brown) Cook, loving known as "Judy" or "Jude", 69, of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Knotin Top Venue in Lufkin.
Mrs. Cook was born on October 7, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to the late Alfred Brown and Jimmie (Allen) Brown, and died Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in Lufkin surrounded by family.
Her greatest achievements were her daughter, Hannah, her grandkids, Hayli and Cadyn, and her husband and best friend, Richard, of 49 years. She looked forward to any chance to gather with her family and close friends, especially when it came to holidays and preparing her favorite meals. She was fast to make friends and people looked forward to being around her because of her fun and funny personality. She had a way of making people laugh and most of the time it wasn’t even intended. She loved all of her friends as if they were family. Some of her favorite things to do were reading, riding the golf cart, loving on her grandpups, playing cards and many other types of games. Along with those things, she had a huge love for music. In her younger years, she and her husband attended many concerts in different cities. As they grew older, they had their own concerts in their living room that could be heard for miles.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Cook of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Hannah and Mike Negrete of Lufkin; granddaughter and fiancé, Hayli Negrete and Maddy Meaux of Lufkin; grandson, Cadyn Negrete of Lufkin; sister, Jan Phillips of Tatum; brother, Danny Brown of Beckville; along numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Brown; mother, Jimmie (Allen) Brown; and stepfather KB Reynolds.
