Graveside services for Kathryn Lee Selph, 87, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Gann Cemetery in Pollok, Texas, with Brother Ty Phillips officiating.
Mrs. Selph was born on February 8, 1939, in Jasper, Texas, to the late Bowman Toney and the late Effie (Byerly) Kaemmerling, and died on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in Lufkin.
She was an independent woman and a caring mother who raised 5 children. She also doted on her grandchildren every chance she had. Kathryn was an entrepreneur who owned her own business in the Lufkin area for over 20 years. Later in life, she went into the insurance field. She always enjoyed her work and serving others, and she continued this well into her 70’s. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and cooking wonderful meals. She was a big John Wayne fan and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was saved in Christ.
Mrs. Selph is survived by son, John Alton Bridges, Jr. of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Bert Lindsey of Streetman, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Cliff Morgan of Lufkin; granddaughter and husband, Tonja and Clint Jackson of Nacogdoches; grandson and wife, Clark and Emily Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandson and wife, Trey and Tasha Bridges of Broaddus; grandson and wife, Kevin and Chell Bridges of San Antonio; granddaughter and husband, Holly and Wade Julian of Huntsville; granddaughter, Ashley Bridges of Huntington; granddaughter, Millie Bridges of Huntington; eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Selph; parents; sons, Dennis Bridges and Randy Bridges; brothers, Jack Westberry and Robert Westberry; and great-grandson, Kade Jackson.
