Funeral Services for Larry Dee King, 75, of Lufkin, Texas, will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at McKindree Baptist Church, with Pastor Garry King officiating. Interment will follow at McKindree Cemetery.
Larry was born on October 18, 1950, in Riceville, Tennessee, to the late Joe King and Ruby (Jones) King, and passed away February 3, 2026, in his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Larry spent much of his life working as a skilled mason, a trade that took him across the United States. Through his work, he built not only structures, but a reputation for dedication, craftsmanship, and perseverance. His travels reflected a strong work ethic and a willingness to go wherever he was needed.
On April 6, 2002, Larry married Sandra King in Lufkin, Texas. Together they built a life rooted in family and shared experiences. Larry was a devoted husband, father, and a steady presence in the lives of those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra King; children, Amanda Smith and husband David, Cody Spears, and Lacey Spears; grandchildren Devon Smith and wife Madison, Martin Smith, and Henry Smith, all of Lufkin, TX; his brother Garry King and wife Shirley; his sister Vicky Wright, sister-in-law Veronica King, and sister-in-law Peggy King, all of TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruby King; and siblings Carl Joe King, Carlos King, Bernice and Roy Leamon, Ronnie and Faye King.
He will be remembered as a devoted and caring father whose love for his family was evident in all he did. A hardworking man, he willingly traveled wherever work took him so he could provide for those he loved, never complaining about the sacrifices required. He took great pride in the life he built and the bonds he shared with his family. A man of deep faith, Larry was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in Riceville, Tennessee, and carried those values with him throughout his life.
Pallbearers will be Garry King, Steve Haney, Cody Spears, David Smith, Devon Smith, and Martin Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Gill, Jim Weaver, and Bobby McGaughey.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at McKindree Baptist Church.
