Larry Don Cook

           Memorial services for Larry Don Cook, 63, of Diboll, will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Diboll with Bro. Mark Pagels and Bro. Jason Huffman officiating.

            Mr. Cook was born September 25, 1958, in Lufkin, Texas, to Norris B. Cook and Janice (Ivie) Cook, and died Friday, April 15, 2022, in Tyler, Texas.

            Larry attended Sam Houston State University.  He was a board member of the Texas Jail Association and served as a law enforcement officer for over 40 years.  During his law career he served with the Chambers County Sherriff’s office, Brewster County Sherriff’s office, Waller County Sheriff's Office, Diboll Police Department, as well as TDCJ.  Larry loved to hunt, fish, and rodeo, and he proudly served in the Masonic order.  He was a member of Community Christian Fellowship in Oak Island, Texas.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Lisa Cook of Henderson, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Kevin Albrecht of Grapevine, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Scottie and Cindy Milligan of Spring, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Keisha and Charles Mueller of Conroe, TX; niece and husband, Amber and Trent Sprecher of Henderson, TX; nephew, John Karl Cook of Henderson, TX; niece, Haleigh Albrecht of Lubbock, TX; niece and husband, Courtney and Johnathan Desiata of Conroe, TX; niece, Lindsey Johns and Tyler of Conroe, TX; nephew Colton Milligan of Conroe, TX; niece, Kiley Milligan of Spring, TX; great-nieces, Melissa, Robin, and Karlee  Kuykendall of Henderson, TX;  great-nephews Branson Desiata and Karson Kosai of Conroe, TX; uncle and wife, Larry and Marsha Cook of Coppell, TX; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

            He was preceded in death by his parents Norris and Janice Cook.

            Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Magee, Darren McCutcheon, Justin Dick, Dean Markle,  Mike Wheat, Donald Lawrence, Joe LaRive, Doug Baldree, Kevin Albrecht, John Cook, Jordan Hollon, and Johnny Simmons.

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Larry Don Cook class of 1977 memorial scholarship DHS Alumni Association c/o Fran McClain 909 South Meadows, Diboll, TX 75941.
