Leonard Dean Jones

          Memorial services for Leonard Dean Jones, 93, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Lufkin with Todd Wright officiating.

          Mr. Jones was born on May 10, 1931, in Ralls, Texas, to the late Carl Jones and Maynard (Butler) Jones, and died Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in Woodville, Texas.

          Mr. Jones was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lufkin and was very active in his church community for many years.  He worked as a warehouse manager for Brookshire Brothers. Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing and working in his yard.

          He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Faye Jones of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and A.W. Wright of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Todd and Kristen Wright of Tyler; grandson, Josh King of Lufkin; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Ellis of Duncan, OK; and brother, Jerry Jones of Emory, TX.

          Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Grace Brookshire, Carla St. Pierre, and Frances Walsh; and brother, Buddy Jones and L.C. Jones.

          Special memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 1641 F.M. 325, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
