Funeral services for Leticia Lopez Hernandez, 69, of Lufkin, will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Iglesia la Viña at 516 Montrose Street, Lufkin, Texas, with Reverend Rolando Ordaz, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Largent Cemetery in Lufkin.

       Mrs. Hernandez was born on November 3, 1956, in Casa Grande, Arizona, to the late Jesus Lopez and the late Rosa (Mijares) Lopez, and died Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Lufkin, Texas.

       Leticia was a woman of faith, and her strong faith influenced many people, especially her family. She loved to sew and sing, and she had quite the “green thumb” as she tended her plants. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her friends and family and enjoyed treating herself to sweets and candy. She started every morning with her coffee and toast. Most importantly, she loved her grandchildren very deeply and spent time with them any chance she got. They were the light of her life.

        Her favorite Bible verse was Psalm 91, which reads, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”

       She is survived by her children, Art Hernandez, Jr. of Lufkin; Ricardo and Jessica Hernandez of Lufkin; Lisa and Rolando Ordaz, Jr. of Lufkin; grandchildren, Allee Hernandez; Zackory Hernandez; Maddyson Hernandez; Josiah Hernandez; Rebekah Hernandez; Judah Hernandez; Levi Ordaz; and Noah Job Ordaz; siblings, Jesus and Paulina Lopez, Jr.; Yolanda and Keith McClelland; Robert Lopez; and sister-in-love, Ana “Mimi” Lopez; niece, Amanda Pinner and husband, Jonathan Pinner; nephew, Kris Lopez; and numerous other nieces and nephews; and bonus grandchildren, Mallorie Pinner and Emmalyn Pinner.

       She was preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Luis Hernandez; parents, Jesus and Rosa Lopez; brother, Ramiro Lopez, and sister-in-law, Lori Lopez.

       Pallbearers will be Rolando Ordaz, Jr., Ricardo Hernandez, Art Hernandez, Jr.; Zackory Hernandez, Josiah Hernandez, Jesus Lopez, Jr., Robert Lopez, and Jonathan Pinner.

       Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Ordaz, Noah Job Ordaz, and Judah Hernandez.

       Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Iglesia la Viña in Lufkin.
