Leticia Lucio de Garza

          Funeral services for Leticia Lucio de Garza, 69, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Rev. Juan Lucio and Rosa Castillo officiating. Interment will follow at  Largent Cemetery in Lufkin.

          Leticia was born on May 28, 1955, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, to Cruz Lucio Vasquez and Mariana (Hernandez) Lucio, and died Monday, September 16, 2024, in Lufkin.

          Leticia Lucio de Garza was born in Piedras Negras Coahuila and was married in 1975 to Jorge Alberto Garza. They had two daughters, Ana and Angie and then two granddaughters, Keilah and Elitcia. Leticia loved God, sports, and coffee. She enjoyed attending church, worshiping, family trips, playing loteria and going to the casino, where she was very lucky! Leticia loved her family very much and was very dedicated to God. 

           She is survived by daughter, Ana Lidia Hernandez and husband Fabian; granddaughter, Keilah Isabel Gonzalez; daughter, Angie Contreras and husband Jaime; granddaughter, Elitcia Contreras; sister, Irma R. Lucio and husband Onesimo Garcia; brother, Juan Manuel Lucio and wife Rosario; sister, Rosa Castillo and husband Cruz; sister, Maricruz Cochran and husband Andrew; and sister-in-law, Darla McGuire Lucio.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, Cruz Lucio Vasquez and Mariana (Hernandez) Lucio; husband, Jorge Alberto Garza; and brothers, Miguel Lucio and Fernando Lucio.

          Pallbearers will be Jaime Contreras, Fabian Hernandez, Fernando Guevara, Enrique Castillo, Samuel Lucio, Josue Castillo, Juree Mumphery, and Cruz E. Castillo.

          Honorary pallbearer will be Cruz Castillo.

          Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin.
