Linda “Kay” Overstreet

          Funeral services for Linda “Kay” Overstreet, 80, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Brother Ray Huggins officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery.

          Mrs. Overstreet was born on February 3, 1945, in Wills Point, Texas, to the late Watts Thigpen and Lorene (Jones) Thigpen, and died Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Huntington.

          Linda Kay Overstreet was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Linda Kay loved and enjoyed family and friends gathered together through the years at her home during the holidays or other special occasions, sweet precious memories. Linda Kay loved children. She enjoyed the years she worked at Brookhollow Elementary School. Linda Kay Overstreet is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

         She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Todd Picha of Lumberton, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Wayne Jr., and Allura Overstreet of Hubbardson, MA; son-in-law, Wendal Phillips; grandchildren, Chris, Lee, Anita, Randal, Shelby, Derek, Breanna, and Tyler; 10 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other family members.

         She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Overstreet Sr.; daughters, Lesley Overstreet, and Lacey “Overstreet” Phillips; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Thomas Stovall; parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, W.E. and Mary Magdalene Overstreet; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles Ray and Barbara Jean Overstreet; brothers-in-law, Pee Wee and Welton Overstreet; and sister-in-law, Barbara Ann “Overstreet” Fox Worth.  

         Pallbearers will be Chris Spencer, Lee Spencer, Randal Phillips, Tyler Cord Overstreet, Derek Taylor, Kolt Mong, Keith Burnett and Wendal Phillips. 

         Honorary pallbearers will be Dayne O’ Daniel, Cody Courtney, Tyler Harris, Archer O’ Daniel, Roman Phillips, and Honor Spencer.

         Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home.
