A Celebration of Life will be held for Lloyd Melton Brister, 87, of Pollok, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Brister home, with Brother Van Johnson officiating. Mr. Brister was born on October 14, 1938, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Melton Lee Brister and Ruth (Anderson) Brister, and died Monday, October 27, 2025, in Longview, Texas.
Mr. Brister grew up in Florida and California and proudly served in the United States Air Force. He obtained a degree in accounting and worked for 35 years in all aspects of the automobile business from sales to Business Manager. Lloyd loved music and played first trumpet. He was also an avid golfer. Lloyd loved East Texas and its people. He took pride in his home and was always busy building, gardening and working on projects.
After retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Brister loved to spend their time traveling together. They went on 23 cruises including a trip through the Panama Canal, 2 trips to Hawaii, and many trips to Las Vegas, Tahoe and the California wine country.
Mr. Brister leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Carolyn Sue Brister of Pollok; son, Loring Brister; granddaughter, Mia; great-granddaughter, Lilly; and Jake Healy. He also leaves behind sister, Sharon Cusick of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; four other grandchildren; and two other great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brister was preceded in death by his parents; one son; and one sister.
