Funeral services for Lula “Geri” Lampin, 84, of Nacogdoches, will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at New Life Christian Fellowship in Nacogdoches with Pastor Dale Morton and Joel Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Martinsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Lampin was born on March 3, 1941, in Many, Louisiana, to the late Wylie Starks and Mary Elizabeth (Oliver) Starks, and died Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Lampin loved her Lord, family, and church family dearly. She was married to the love of her life, Draden “Pete” Lampin for 51 years and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing trips, vacations, and dancing together. Mrs. Lampin worked as a school cafeteria manager at Martinsville School for 25 years. She loved her job and considered all of the students to be part hers. Mrs. Lampin enjoyed cooking and feeding her family and friends. Her pride and joy were her family and being Nanny to all of her “babies”. She loved to go on “Sister” trips, visiting Washington, Florida, and California.
Mrs. Lampin is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Eddy Walker of Longview, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Tonia Lampin of Woden, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tommy Parks of Nacogdoches, TX; daughter and fiancé, Tammy Lampin and Joel Johnson of Nacogdoches, TX; grandchildren, Angela Parker and husband Chad of Tupelo, MS, Kristi Allen and husband Jason of Longview, TX, Joshua Lampin and wife Rachel of Woden, TX, Devon Hughes of Woden, TX, Jennifer Lampin of Nacogdoches, TX, Taylor Mohr and husband Tyler of Argyle, TX, Cody Lyons and wife Deborah of Nacogdoches, TX, Tiffany Scarborough and husband Vernon of Nacogdoches, TX, and Amber Bentley and husband John of Nacogdoches, TX; sisters, Jean Weldon and Joy Starks; brothers, Clifford Starks and Joe Starks; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; sisters-in-law, Pat Starks, Mollie Lampin, and Mary Lampin; brother-in-law, Gerald Lampin and wife Sharon; and special friend, Karen Felding.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Draden Lampin; brothers, Wylie Starks, Charles Starks, and Glen Starks; sisters, Delight Gable and Doris Webb; brothers-in-law, Grady Lampin and Lindon Lampin; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Butler, Eula B. Davenport, and Myrtle Lee Shaw.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Scarborough, John Bentley, Cody Lyons, Chad Parker, Jason Allen, Tyler Mohr, Hunter Hughes, and James Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Marion “Bubs” Starks, Cliff Starks, Jr., Willie Hopper, Randy Waggoner, Luke Lampin, Robert Ferguson, and her special great-grandsons.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2025, at New Life Christian Fellowship in Nacogdoches, prior to the funeral service.
