Mandy was born on May 3, 1980, in Lufkin, Texas to Louis Keith King and Marla Jeaneene (Cummings) King, and passed away Monday, August 5, 2024, in Lufkin.
Mandy had a vintage soul and a knack for turning something old into something beautiful. She gave the most heartfelt and personable gifts and never showed up to a family function empty-handed. She had a love for huge dangling earrings, a funky pair of sunglasses, a large fountain drink, and a good bandanna. You could often find her in the kitchen, whipping up some comfort food from scratch or her latest drink concoction but whatever it was, it was always delicious. She was the best Auntie-Auntie and treasured her time and memories made with her nieces and nephews and more often than not, she could be found at the kids’ table during family get togethers. She shared her love of sewing, cooking, crafting and music with them and created precious memories that will live on forever in their hearts. She wore other titles too such as daughter, sister and friend but above all, her most cherished role was mother. To Pierce, she was not just a parent but a guiding light, a best friend, and a source of unwavering love. With him, she shared her passions for the beach, new adventures, music, and the thrill of dirt bikes and four wheelers racing down a dirt road. She always ensured he felt loved, safe, supported, and cherished. Her legacy of strength and devotion will continue to shine bright through Pierce and we all hold onto the memories of her laughter, her hugs, and the love that she reserved for those closest to her.
She is survived by her son, Peirce Kole King; mother, Marla King; father and bonus mom, Keith and Debbie King; brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Gena King; sisters and brothers-in-law, Macie and Daniel Murray, April and Mike Davis, Brittany and Daniel McSwain; nieces and nephews, Parker, Emma, Evie and Mittie King, Preston, Marlie and Mavis Murray, Katy and Max Davis, Blaize, Zoey, Timber, and Brigham McSwain, all of Apple Springs; best friend and family, Jacob McAlister; grandparents, Sol and Karen Cummings of Joplin, Mo; grandmother, Louise Hendry; Uncle T, Aunt Cin, Aunt Tammy, and Donald Cummings; and numerous cousins and friends.
